Beauty Favourites: February 2018
Hey babes! Today I’m bringing you my first monthly favourites!
I decided to branch out from my usual drugstore makeup routine and add some more colour and high-end products into my life. Of course, there’s definitely some drug store in here too.
So grab a cup of coffee, tea, choccy milk, whatever because this is going to be a long post!
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Snow
So, this was my first high-end foundation. I had never really been able to justify spending a lot of money for a foundation which I end up using a lot of, but this baby made me change my mind completely.
It’s definitely medium to full coverage and you don’t need a lot to get a good coverage which is something that’s incredibly important when I decide to buy a foundation, PLUS they’ve got a reasonably large shade range which is super cool for darker women and us pale women!
Is it bad that another thing I love about this foundation is how cute it’s packaging is? Maybe that’s just me, but damn this thing looks cute.
Models Prefer Holo-Glow Powder Highlight Palette
$6 on sale at Priceline (Limited Edition)
I hadn’t gotten much into highlighters but this palette has turned me into a highlight lover, my main problem with this is that it’s terrible to photograph, I took about 20 photos on different settings trying to get it true to colour but it never worked out!
It comes with orange, blue and pink shades and they’re absolutely beautiful when on the skin, it’ll work if you want a ‘subtle’ look and definitely will work if you want a blinding highlight.
Unfortunately, it’s limited edition (which I never realised) so expect a new highlighter update at some point.
NYX Gotcha Covered Concealer in Alabaster
When NYX say they’ve got you covered, they aren’t kidding.
A little really goes a long way when it comes to this concealer, there have been many times that I’ve ended up applying WAY too much and basically being 99% concealer. The coverage is absolutely amazing, I use it for highlighting and it works beautifully.
The only real problem I have with this is that its kind of sticky, but to me, it’s a small issue and the only one I can actually find with the product.
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Fig
This is an absolutely everyday shade and something I need to be using way more often, it’s got a beautiful finish as well as the berry-ish shade just melts (hehe get it?) my heart. It’s got a slight scent and it’s definitely not invasive and fades beautifully.
There’s not much else I can say about this lipstick except I’m absolutely in love.
Loreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Baby Roll Mascara in Black
I never expected the day that a mascara would be a favourite of mine. Personally, in the past, I’ve never really liked any mascara but this one changed it all.
This mascara makes my lashes look full and long, which I don’t usually get from other mascara, the wand makes it super easy to apply and doesn’t smudge all over the lid. I’ve also never had any of it moving down my eyes throughout the day, which is amazing for me, no panda eyes!
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
If you’re looking for a primer which is going to have your shadow staying all day and probably into the night? This is the primer for you.
This stuff blew me away, it never has your shadow crease or move throughout the day, I’ve had experiences with other shadow primers and I found that to be the main issue, I’m one oily lidded woman.
Originally I thought that $28.00 was a bit steep for an eyeshadow primer, but this is absolutely worth the money and I highly recommend buying this if you’re looking for a new primer or just need a backup!
NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade
If you read my post about me changing my hair colour (that’s here, if you wanna watch that) you probably guessed I couldn’t have my usual jet black eyebrows, instead I tried to match my eyebrows to my hair as much as possible and went on a mission (aka a Priceline trip) to get me some brow products. I ended up coming across this product and immediately knew this was my new holy grail brow product.
This looks incredibly natural when you apply it, doesn’t smudge around and definitely doesn’t sweat off. As someone who used to have to apply a product to my brows and then eyeshadow on top to set it, this makes a world of a difference and also makes my makeup routine shorter!
Colour By TBN Nail Polish in Great In Grey 228
There’s honestly not much to say about this, except that this polish is pigmented as hell, if you want something that’s going to be quick and easy to apply, this is the stuff! Plus, for $3 it’s worth giving a go!
