Beauty Favourites | July 2018
It’s that time of the month again (not that kind) where I show and tell you about the products I’ve been absolutely loving this month!
Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme – $20-41
I won’t get super into detail on this post since I’ve got a review on it here, but this stuff is amazing! Of course, you won’t end up with some huge lips after using it, but it gives you a gorgeous plump look to your lips which is something I absolutely love.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – $17-$33
As someone who likes to stick to what they know works when it comes to mascara, I thought I’d finally try out the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced. I’d always seen great reviews on it but I never really wanted to shell out that much money for a mascara, hence the travel size, but let me tell you this stuff is absolutely amazing! It makes my eyelashes look beautiful and I’m definitely getting the full size product next time!
Urban Decay Afterglow Powder Blush in Score – $42
I’ve never been much of a blush wearer, I think I turned myself off of it after the time I saw a really pretty girl who was dating the guy I liked (I was 15 okay?) who had this bright pink blush which was really packed on and I thought I’d try it, as you can imagine it was a tragic look and I would never allow myself to try that again.
But this blush is incredible, I had a feeling that I’d dislike this blush because of the colour (even though I bought it at my own free will) and it completely surprised me. The pigment is just right so you’re not gonna get this huge pink blob on your face, but you won’t have to apply like 4 layers just for it to show up. It’s got a bit of shimmer in it when you look at it in the pan, but I honestly haven’t noticed it once it’s on the face!
It makes me look less like a ghost and I think I like it.
Millie Mackintosh Deeply in Lustre Bronze and Glow – $28.45
I was given this as a gift quite a while ago and I never even looked at it because of the blush colours in there, however, once I needed to travel I thought I’d try some palettes out and see if I’d want to take them with me when I travel.
I’m definitely taking this!
I’m sure the brown in this palette is for bronze, but I enjoy looking a bit ghostly so that’s definitely not what it’s going to be used for. If I apply it with a bit of a heavier hand compared to my usual contour palettes, I’m able to get a great contour which is something my round face needs!
The blush colours are beautiful, however, the pigment in them isn’t spectacular so I have to layer them a bit, which isn’t a huge problem because sometimes it’s good to build up to the amount you want instead of having to find a way to make it less overpowering!
Hourglass Archbrow in Natural Black
After I dyed my hair black again I decided I’d try a new brow product instead of my kohl pencil and gel eyeliner routine, and I think I’ve found my new holy grail.
Originally I wasn’t blown away because of the fact it wasn’t bold enough for some kind of Instagram brow, but the more I worked with it and learned about it and it’s shaped, I’ve got absolutely no issue with it! It gives you a great natural looking brow compared to the very dark ones I’m used to, so if I do ever want to have a bolder, stronger brow I can always use my gel liner to amp it up a bit more when it comes to a time I want to look extremely glammed up!
