Now, let’s face it, I didn’t really need anymore makeup on this trip (if you want to see my travel makeup bag, post is here). I think all I originally said I needed to get was a new foundation, which I did too, but I did get a bit carried away as well!
All of these are products I’ve never tried before so I’m super excited to be able to experience them first hand and see what I think, so expect some reviews coming soon!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dream Glow Kit – 595kr
As someone who lives in Australia with only one Sephora, there was no way I was going to allow such a gorgeous palette get destroyed in the mail so I made myself stray away from Anastasia and give up hope getting hold of a glow kit unless a Sephora shows up nearby. BUT IT FINALLY HAPPENED!
In a store called Kicks in Oslo City I decided I’d have a quick look around before going home and boy was it a good idea!
This palette is absolutely mesmerising! Originally I expected these palettes to be a bit overhyped and have me disappointed, but as soon as I felt the formula I knew I needed the dream glow kit as well as whatever others are in stock next time I go!
It was rather pricey which was something that surprised me, but it was absolutely worth every krone I spent!
NYX Total Control Drop Foundation in Vanilla – 195kr
As I mentioned in my travel makeup post, I needed to get a foundation for while I was here, and for some wild reason I decided I would buy one I’ve never used before. I’ve only actually swatched this product at the time of posting this but from my first impression, it seems like a little goes a long way! Also, it smells kind of weird…not sure if that’s normal.
MAC Prep & Prime Fix+ in Rose – 175kr
At the start of this post I said I’ve never used any of these products before, but I’m not actually too sure about this one! When doing a course years ago to be certified as a MUA I had to use MAC products, so I’m gonna guess I’ve used Fix+ before! Also, the sparkly black packaging is so so beautiful and I’m going to hate throwing it out!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Granite – 255kr
I can absolutely admit I suck when it comes to my eyebrows, and as much as I love the Hourglass Arch brow, I’m definitely used to using more of a pomade type product on my brows. Truthfully I’ve avoided this product as much as I could because of the price but I thought since I’m on holiday and trying to have a new start, why not try a new brow product which might hopefully get them looking better?
MAC Matte Lipstick in Lightly Charred – 185kr
I’m already kind of sad about this one since it’s being discontinued, but I decided to go for two things I love, but don’t seem to buy very often, solid lipstick & one that’s in grey.
This is definitely a purple toned grey, it actually reminds me of Lime Crime’s Chinchilla (if anyone remembers their bullet lipsticks) which makes me think I’ll probably have a yellow look to my teeth when wearing this, but hey! That’s the price I’ll have to pay!
And just in case someone mentions it: I’m absolutely okay with looking like a corpse, I would just like to look cute while doing so.
MAC Lip Pencil in Redd – 155kr
After my fiasco with the Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment I decided I’d buy a lip liner and luckily for me I almost headbutted a container full of them so I was in luck. I’ve noticed this pencil isn’t one thats difficult to get pigment from, but also not so soft that it’s almost annoying to try to apply, I definitely look forward to using this in the future!
